When Do You Start Decorating For Fall

I, too, decorate for the fall season around the time when the children return to school, which in our neighborhood is just after Labor Day weekend. This year, however, it will be a little later due to the release of Baby3, which will be on September 4. But, believe me when I say that I will decorate as soon as I return home from the hospital! I dont do anything for Fall indoors, despite the fact that 1 yr The top of our stained glass window on our staircase landing, which is also tacked to the ceiling, has a number of silk garlands of Fall leaves that I placed around it.

  • It had a pretty amazing appearance.
  • I get my Amber glassware and plates out of the cupboard.
  • On the outside of the house, I have a giant grapevine wreath wrapped in much of the same silk leaf garland that I use on the front door.
  • With a strand of white lights included into the garland, I hang more of it around the entrance.
  • Last year, the kids received a hay bale for the porch this year, they would like corn stalks as well.
  • Our 4-year-old son planted some orange pansies in old watering cans for the front porch last year, thanks to a generous gift from a friendly lady at the local nursery.

Unfortunately, because we live near an elementary school, the kids would go absolutely crazy with excitement as they headed home from school. Perhaps we will have better fortune then! Autumn is my absolute favorite season!

Is September Too Early To Decorate For Halloween

He stole my candles!! Putting up our Fall Decor!

It is widely agreed that the first two weeks of October are the most ideal time of year to decorate for Halloween. There is nothing wrong with putting up some decorations a few days ahead of time if you enjoy the occasion. To be sure, everyone has a personal opinion when it comes to when to decorate for Halloween, but the last week of September is typically regarded the most appropriate time to begin. You can decorate in phases if you are eager to get the party started but dont want to overwhelm your neighbors by doing it all at once.

Diy Fall Sign For The Home

I just love DIY wood signs!

My sister gave me some old barn wood that I painted several years back with some left over paint.

It was before my blogging days, so I don’t have a tutorial to share.

I transferred the words and images onto the board with chalk. Then, painted in the outline. Super easy!

Funny story, I was going to have a sign say “Happy Fall Y’all”. But for whatever reason, that mortified my daughter. So, “Happy Autumn” it is.

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the web to take a peek at our fall home decor.

Poll: How Soon Is Too Soon To Start Dreaming Of Fall

Stores are already rolling out the pumpkins and flannel.

Each year, fall and Halloween decorations seem to creep onto store shelves sooner. Some grocery stores have already started building their candy displays, and shops like Michael’s and JOANN are trading out their seasonal aisles from beach balls and palm tree decor to wooden pumpkins and plaid bows.

For some of us myself included it’s a welcome transition. Summer is great and all, but fall really has it going on: Apple picking, pumpkin carving, colorful foliage, football season, cider, pies, holiday music, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the start of the Christmas season it’s all too much to cram into a few measly months.

I can’t be the only one brainstorming Halloween costumes and Googling leafy decorations. Weigh in, and let me know that I’m not alone or that I’m totally crazy and need to just chill:
