Main Halloween Events At Disney Springs
Look for late night concerts and dance parties to celebrate the Disney World Halloween season, as well as special photo opportunities for the whole family. Dont forget to visit the Disney PhotoPass Studio for one-of-a-kind Halloween photos. Downtown Disney Halloween night can be a fun place for the adults to come play on October 31 as plenty of the bars and restaurants will have fun drinks and entertainment. We are sure if you are visiting during the spooky season, there will be plenty of Disney Springs Halloween activities.
Guardians Of The Galaxy: Monsters After Dark
What was once the Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure is now a Guardians of the Galaxy ride, and theyve re-themed it, as well, for Halloween.
Riders help Rocket and Groot escape from monsters attacking the Collectors Fortress.
While I personally have not ridden this one, as free falls are NOT my thing :), I do love the Guardians of the Galaxy, and this sounds like a fun spin on a classic ride.
Halloween Rides And Entertainment At California Adventure
In Disney California Adventure park the Halloween entertainment and ride overlays have increased more and more each year.
Over in Cars Land, Maters Junkyard Jamboree will become Maters Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigis Rollickin Roadsters will change into Luigis Honkin Haul-O-Ween.
Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission: Breakout! becomes Guardians of the Galaxy-Monsters After Dark starting at 6 pm everyday. This special Halloween version of the attraction is a scarier version that does not include the popular song soundtrack of the regular version of the attraction. Instead, Monsters After Dark picks up where the main Mission: Breakout story leaves off. The attraction centers around your car serving as bait to distract the monsterswhich have inconveniently been released from their cagesfrom eating Baby Groot.

You can find more entertainment options like Plaza de la Familia in the Paradise Gardens Park- a celebration inspired by Día de los Muertos including a festive experience celebrating the film Coco with live entertainment, craft making, food, and merchandise.
Guests can enjoy a Musical Celebration of Coco several times a day when Miguel joins the storytellers of Plaza de la Familia and the Mariachi Divas.
You can also find a plenty of favorite characters, like the Fab Five, wearing their Halloween costumes and ready to do meet and greets. Make sure you’re using the Disneyland app to track down your favorites.

Breakfast With Santa At Catal Restaurant
This popular event returns every year to Downtown Disney and is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. Be sure to buy your tickets far in advance so you don’t miss out!

Disney Hotels Decorated For Christmas
Many people don’t know this, but one of the most quiet, beautiful locations inside the Disneyland Resort is Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. The Grand California has a beautifully decorated lobby and it is a great place to catch a quick rest.
The Disneyland Resort Christmas Carolers perform in the lobby of each of the three hotels: Disney Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, and the Paradise Pier Hotel.
You can also meet Santa in the lobby of each of these hotels throughout the day.

Halloween At Disney California Adventure Park
Disney California Adventure offers a few grim grinning ghouls and ghosts of its own. Oogie Boogie’s oversized shadow haunts the main entrance of Disney California Adventure. Listen for his voice to speak out to you from time to time. Head over to the Headless Horseman statue on Buena Vista Street. Boo-tiful purple lights are aglow, and you can hear the faint clip-clop sounds of the horse or Oogie Boogie himself. The Disney characters are happily showing off their Halloween costumes. Last year, Disney Junior star Vampirina greeted guests during Halloween Time in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure. We hope she’ll be back we promise she won’t bite!
You’ll want to check the dates of the Oogie Boogie Bash before you plan your park visits to Disney California Adventure Park this season. The park closes to daytime guests at 6 p.m. on party nights . Party guests mix in beginning at 3 p.m., making that park more crowded in the afternoons and unavailable to guests without a party ticket during the evenings after 6 p.m. If you’re not attending Oogie Boogie Bash, visit Disney California Adventure on a non-event night to catch this park all aglow for Halloween Time.

Planning To See Both Heres How You Can Save
If youre planning to see both, that means having to buy entrance to Disneyland for two separate days. Ticket prices can start at $97 for a single-day pass, which is a lot for some families and individuals to afford just to see the sights. And thats assuming youre buying your tickets at least two weeks in advanced.
Single-day tickets during peak-season can start at $149. You could always go for a two-day pass since theyre cheaper than buying two single-day tickets, but youll have to be smart about it. Your two visits have to be within two weeks of each other. So youll have to strategize when to visit Disneyland for its Halloween décor on a date when, two weeks later, youll know the décor has already transitioned to the Christmas décor. For example, if you visit Disneyland on Halloween at October 31 , you can visit as late as November 13 to see the complete transition to its Christmas theme.
A third option is to get a Disneyland Annual Passport. These are tickets that allow you to visit Disneyland Park as many times as you want within the year. Prices for these passes start at $599 and come with additional freebies and discounts. The cheaper annual passes may be used during peak season, but the most expensive one can grant the owner access any time of the year.

A Christmas Fantasy Parade
A Christmas Fantasy Parade This is one of my absolute favorite parts of Holidays at Disneyland. The skating reindeer! The snowmen! The gingerbread men! I could write an entire post on how great this parade is. Do. Not. Miss. It.
It runs at 3:00pm and 5:30pm most days.
The Plaza Inn hosts a dining package that coordinates with this beloved parade. I am a big fan of dining packages, so Im excited about this fun addition. Check out all about this dining package in this post.
My favorite place to watch this parade is from Town Square, which is the section at the front of the park between the Main Street Railroad Station and Main Street.

Halloween Decorations At California Adventure
Cars Land celebrates Haul-O-Ween with awesome overlays and decorations everywhere. You can see photos from Cars Land at Halloween here.
From Fillmores Jack-Oil Lanterns and Flos Spider-Car to Witchy Miss Lizzies shop each and every location will transform Radiator Springs into Radiator Screams.
This was nearly impossible to photograph well, so I had to borrow a photo.
Buena Vista Street and the entrance has Halloween decor inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas film. Oogie Boogie has taken over Disney California Adventure as his oversized silhouette beckons guests down the street and a swarm of bats swirl around Carthay Circle Theater.
The Headless Horseman sits at the top of the street serving as an ominous beacon and fantastic photo location.

Seasonal Overlays For Disneyland Attractions During Halloween
Several attractions at Disneyland Resort are overlayed with a special, seasonal Halloween theme during the spookiest time of year. Here is what you can experience in 2021.
Note that Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy is another Halloween overlay at the Disneyland Resort. However, Ghost Galaxy is not occurring during the 2021 Halloween season. So, Guests visiting Disneyland can look forward to experiencing the classic Space Mountain ride without a Halloween overlay this year.

My Ideal Day For You At Disneyland
To be sure you get to enjoy lots of attractions and see all of the limited time holiday happenings, follow this plan:
Arrive an hour prior to park opening and follow one of my strategies in this post.
Doing so will allow you to get LOTS of attractions done prior to the afternoon, at which point I recommend you take a break from the parks. Go back to your hotel to rest, nap, swim, etc. Then, return to the park to follow this plan:
+Grab a spot between 2:45pm and 3:00pm anywhere in Town Square to watch the 3:00pm parade. I prefer the earlier one. But! Make sure youre not facing the sun where you set up to watch it. I learned this the hard way one year.
+After the parade ends, stick around for the flag retreat ceremony just after. Its usually around 4:30pm and takes place at the flag pole in Town Square, which is the section of the park you walk into after going through the tunnel on either side.
+Around 5:00pm, the Disneyland Christmas tree is lit. Watch it from Main Street, between the Emporium and the Magic Shop.
+After the tree lighting is finished, walk down Main, veer right before you run into the castle and walk down the path toward the Matterhorn. Pass the Matterhorn on your right and head toward its a small world. The first holiday lighting for this attraction happens at 5:15pm each day. You only have 10 minutes to make it there, so no tomfoolery. Focus!

Attractions That Transform For Halloween Time
The Haunted Mansion is turned into a celebration of Tim Burtons The Nightmare Before Christmas. This attraction is called Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Jack Skellington and Sally can often be found near the attraction in New Orleans Square for autographs and photos. Bring your camera and an autograph book for this.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction transformation takes 2-3 weeks, so account for that timing during your trip planning. Classic Haunted Mansion is always closed the second part of August in preparation for this overlay, which begins 9.6.2019. The attraction will remain with the Jack Skellington theme until Holidays at the Disneyland Resort ends on January 6, 2020.

Disneyland goes crazy about holiday-themed food, and Halloween Time has too many themed snacks and treats for me to list here. Just know that youll find amazing holiday churros, special popcorn buckets, alien macarons, fancy cupcakes, and even some spooky savory specials.

In addition to the yummy food, Disneyland also goes all out with Halloween-themed merchandise in the parks. Youll find Halloween ears, spirit jerseys, Halloween Loungefly backpacks, and plenty of other items.
Downtown Disney also has a Plutos Pumpkin Pursuit activity that you can buy for $9.99. The board game also comes with a souvenir cup, which you can get when you buy the board or after youve completed it. You search around the Downtown Disney District at specific stores and restaurants in search of character-themed pumpkins. Its so much fun!

Oogie Boogie Bash A Disney Halloween Party
Oogie Boogie Bash replaced the previous Mickey Halloween Party and takes place in California Adventure as a separate-ticket party event featuring Halloween entertainment, an interactive dance party, stage shows with Mickey, and Disney villains walk-through experiences. The party is even better than the previous Mickey’s Halloween Party experience. Read all about this new party, information on ticket dates and prices, and our review of the party from last year here!
Oogie Boogie Bash will take place throughout the run of Halloween at Disneyland.
The Frightfully Fun Parade will come to California Adventure this Halloween season!
2022 dates haven’t been released yet but you can see the 2021 dates for reference as you plan your trip!

Entry to Disney California Adventure park before the party is included with an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket. The after-hours party begins at 6 p.m. PT and you will have the opportunity to play in the park for three hours before the event starts.
Disney Hotels During The Holiday Season
One of my favorite parts of Downtown Disney year-round is Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. Most guests don’t realize you don’t actually have to be staying at this hotel to hang out in the lobby. At Christmas time, this is especially fantastic as this deluxe hotel pulls out all the stops for the holidays.
And not to be missed in this hotel is the gigantic gingerbread house in the lobby! We spent a long time looking for all the hidden Mickeys in this display and taking in all the details.
Look at the details in the fireplace! So majestic. So delicious.
The back of the gingerbread house is also decorated and you can find more hidden Mickeys on this side too!
Just to see the scale take a look at the Disneyland Resort Christmas Carolers perform in the lobby! That’s one giant gingerbread house.
The Disneyland Resort Christmas Carolers are extremely talented, you can find them at each of the three hotels: Disney Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel, and the Paradise Pier Hotel. Watch the video above to listen to part of one of their performances. They’ll usually include kids in their shows too which is great for little ones to experience some Disney magic.
