Hey friends! Ever since the start of the year Ive been rearranging furniture. Anyone else? Ha! I was just talking about bringing a piece of furniture to my dining room the other day. . The urge to spruce up the house is not only because Im home all the time now , but its also because we have different needs for how we use our home this year.
Perhaps you will relate. First we were making room for Courtney to move into our lower level. Shes lived on her own for years but decided to move back in to save up some money for other goals. We thought we had it all figured out for all of us space-wise so we were feeling like we were making progress.
But then, my son had to leave his dorm because of the quarantine. So he moved back into his room bringing with him all of the stuff we had just bought for him and moved with him into the dorm a few short months ago. 🙂 And of course, we had already moved a bunch of things INTO his bedroom and our guest room to make more room downstairs.

“My friends and family always ask for decorating helpwhich I’m always happy to do because I love what I dobut they tend to buy complete matching suites, and I think they don’t understand that it’s okay to mix the traditional with the industrial,” says Bhargava. “Have fun make it your own expression. Getting all of your furniture and all your pieces in varying scales is really critical. Different proportions add character and interest. You may have a giant table or a table that folds to entertain a lot of people, but then do smaller occasional chairs in the family room space. I think it creates more interest. I think levels create more comfort because you can be much more creative, and it also gives you the space to bring in emotional pieces.”

I hope you love these girls bedroom decor ideas I am sharing with you today. I recently redecorated my girls bedroom and am so excited to share this room reveal! From the DIY wainscoting to the window cornice, new lighting and artwork to the new furniture and decor, we are so pleased with how this project came together. Our girls room was previously styled with vintage french provincial furniture from my childhood. While it was sentimental to use my furniture, over time the pieces yellowed and were in pretty rough shape. We wanted to create a space that was more current, chic, and sophisticated enough to grow with them as they age.
