Mallory-Fields Home Furnishings and Design landed on Home Accents Todays 2018 Top 50 Retail Stars list.
David Mallory and Todd Fields launched their interior design service 20 years ago, beginning the business from their home.
Eventually, we decided to start a store front, Fields said. This presented us with the opportunity to work more with the public and build connections with clients.
Sponsored by AmericasMart Atlanta, the annual Retail Stars list honors independent brick-and-mortar retailers of home accents and accessories. The list includes furniture stores, home décor boutiques and interior design retailers that are creative in their merchandising, contribute to their communities and distinguish themselves from the competition.
Fields credited the business success to the work partners persistence, a fair work ethic and their clients. Creating a presence within the realm of social media pushed their company forward and expanded their network.
We have to be diversified and use several different media platforms and present it in a way that is visually pleasing, Fields said. Using key words is helpful so we can branch out and appeal to a wide array of customers.
Mallory and Fields originated from East Tennessee, made a brief move to Atlanta, and eventually returned to Johnson City to introduce the regions consumers to contemporary interior design services.
