Grinch Seen Stealing Christmas Decorations From Yulee Home
YULEE, Fla. Someone that is being referred to as The Grinch struck a Yulee neighborhood last month.
In the middle of the night, someone could be seen on camera getting out of a truck and stealing two Christmas chicken decorations from Brian and Tabatha Strauders front yard.
I was upset. I felt violated. It made me really upset that somebody would do something like that, said Strauder.
The theft happened on Nov. 24 in the Timbercreek Plantation in Yulee. Strauder reported the theft to the Nassau County Sheriffs Office but has no idea who the Grinch is.
To take stuff out of someones yard when we go all out for Christmas, it hurts, said Strauder. The Strauders home is typically decked out with decorations and twinkling lights wrapped around the home, synced to Christmas music.
We try to capture the reason for the season because its not about gift-giving, its not about receiving its about the presence of our Lord being born that day, she added.
Strauder said she doesnt plan to press charges.
I just want them to stop, she said. Its wrong. Its one of the 10 Commandments thou shall not steal.
She just hopes the Grinch, leaves the neighborhood alone.
If you know anything about the theft, youre asked to call the Nassau County Sheriffs Office.

Trace Onto The Plywood And Cut Out
I used a sharpie so I can see the lines, and also labeled each piece with “top” so I wouldnt try to put it together wrong. but it shouldnt be too hard to figure out if you dont.
Again, I decided to cutout the paper pieces and trace, but you could just glue the paper to the plywood to save on time and frustration of cutting out all those stupid curves!
–Safety Advisory —
Make sure to use appropriate safety precautions when working with power tools. Gloves, safety glasses, breathing protection, hearing protection……
With the Jigsaw, I cut the large board into smaller pieces to work with, then cutout each piece. it was much easier to work with smaller pieces than an entire 4′ x 8′ sheet. Be extra careful in thin spots, as you dont want them to break, however since there’s alot of stacking involved you dont have to worry too much. Dont forget: MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE!
Be sure to keep any fine sawdust to use later. Keep sawdust away from any flames, as it’s very flammable.
Now I did two main body pieces – I did this to add some substance to the entire body. Could have possibly only done 1, but it was just a little too flimsy and didnt want it to break due to the elements.

Grinch Steals Christmas Decorations From Chula Vista Home
CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A Chula Vista woman’s holiday decorations vanished from her lawn Thursday morning but she’s determined not to let “the Grinch” steal her Christmas spirit.
It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Wendy Claproth’s home in East Chula Vista. Since her husband’s passing ten years ago, Claproth says she did not have the spirit to spread Christmas cheer outside. But this year, she finally got the courage to give it a shot.
On her front lawn, she put up a large blowup Christmas tree snowman, hung lights along the roof, set up candy canes, wrapped her mailbox, and even created a Christmas tree with a set of lights. Her house screamed “festive.”
But on Thursday morning, she noticed that her brand new Christmas tree snowman inflatable was gone.
“Yes, you get mad, but more than anything, you get disappointed,” Claproth said.
It wasn’t the wind, and it definitely was not an accident. Thieves had ripped the blowup right from her lawn, leaving only the stakes.
“It was kind of angled towards the corner all by itself over there, so I guess it was an easy prey,” Claproth sighed.
She wrote about the incident in her neighborhood app and found that she was not the only victim. Many others chimed in, saying the Grinch stole their Christmas decorations as well.
“I ordered myself another one because they are not going to steal my Christmas cheer!” Claproth said. She plans to place it right where it was earlier in the week.

The Grinch Stole My Lights
Twas a month before Christmas, and we just bought a house, So we decided to go with the minimalist decorations and do the whole “The Grinch stole my Christmas Lights” routine I’ve seen floating around social media.
Since my wife and I had just recently purchased a house late 2015, we didnt really have very many decorations for Christmas. So, being the super cheapo I am, decided to go minimalist and make my own Grinch stealing literally all of our Christmas decorations.
Please give me a vote!
sheet of 15/32″ plywood – approx: $14
Original Wood Glue – approx: $5
nails and screws – approx: $2
Jig Saw – approx: $25 at harbor freight tools
Air Nail gun – approx: $25 at harbor freight tools
Paintbrush – approx: $8
Electric Disc Sander – approx: $25 – 30 at harbor freight tools
Dremel – approx: $70 at home depot
This was a pretty time consuming project due to the use of the Jig saw. There’s lots of curves and detail, so it just takes more time. If you have a CNC router it would definitely speed up the process
I’m not going to give full detail on everything, as in many places I had to improvise to get the 3D stacking of the pieces to fit together correctly, but more on that later. Onto the project!

How The Grinch Stole Christmas Lights And Decorations
CLEARWATER Cancel Christmas: Decoration disaster has struck.
A would-be grinch or group of grinches have been plucking a handful of Christmas light displays and inflatable holiday decorations from decorated yards in Clearwater neighborhoods the past 10 days.
At least five thefts have occurred, Clearwater police said, and all of them have been clustered in neighborhoods east of Missouri Avenue near Lakeview Road.
“It’s horrible,” Clearwater Police spokesman Rob Shaw said. “You’ve got some nasty, old grinch running around pulling the plug on the holiday.”
So far, the Christmas thieves have stolen an inflatable Santa on an airplane, worth $100, and a Mickey and Minnie Mouse inflatable snow globe, its value rounding out at about $150.
They’ve also nabbed at least three laser light displays that shine on houses and make them look like they’re covered in Christmas lights.
Shaw said one of the laser lights belonged to a 93-year-old woman whose children bought the display for her.
“People are basically waking up, going outside and finding out their holiday light display is not what it used to be,” Shaw said.
Clearwater police are telling residents to bring their light displays inside before they go to bed, initial their inflatables and report any decoration-stealing-grinch-like activity.
