Soaking Bathtub + Tile Wall
The first thing that you see when you enter through the double doors of our master bedroom is our freestanding tub with statement-making tile wall:
The wall tile c/o Walker Zanger is EVERYTHING I couldnt love it more! Its their Rattan tile found and is a mix of porcelain and marble:
I fell in love with it early on in the planning stages for our bathroom and used it as the jumping off point for the rest of the space. Originally I was planning to use it on the shower floor but had to regroup after my tile guy told me it wouldnt work well there it was a blessing in disguise because I think it was meant for this spot!
For our freestanding bathtub and tub filler, I wanted pieces with simple, clean lines so the tile wall could be the statement-maker. I ended up choosing which has a nice depth and a not too small but not too big size and in a brushed nickel finish:
And I added in front of the tub to hold a drink or towel:
On to the pendant over the tub its large and in charge and I love it ! Its 30 in diameter which is huge but since its an open weave it doesnt take up much visual space and doesnt block the view out our window:
If you love the look of this pendant but want a slightly smaller size, is very similar.

Adding A Shower Niche
First thing on the list is creating a recessed niche in the shower. Now, ideally I wanted it to be SUPER long, like really long, from almost one end of the shower to the other. Basically a full width shower niche.
So I opted to keep keep it centered here and work with just one existing 2×4.
Okay, so next decision was to see if I wanted to make the niche with existing subway tiles or add an accent tile. Initially, it wasnt a hard decision when I found out I did not have enough subway tiles to go up to the ceiling. Oh, just go buy more?? Well, the manufacturer, Bellavita does not return emails or phones calls and I couldnt find a local source after 2 months of searching. As a result, I was stuck and had to add accent tiles to the niche, like this one.
