Guest Bathroom Design Plans With Floor & Decor
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. All opinions are 100% mine.
Last fall I had the privilege of working with Floor & Decor on the design plans for my laundry room. You can check that out HERE. I loved how easy it was to pull everything together right there in the store and work with one of their instore design professionals.
So when I heard they were opening a new store in Fort Worth, I had to go check it out and get inspired! Though this is far from me, Floor & Decor is so worth driving to with the amount of time and money you save shopping with them.
I have had a new project on my mind and thought it would be a great opportunity to see the new store and nail down some of my design ideas for this space.
I shared many of my design ideas for the house this year but the guest bathroom was not on my radar a few months ago until we started having more and more guests recently come stay with us. Right now the room is literally all white. Its kind of boring and I want it to feel warmer and inviting.
What I love about Floor & Decor is it is a one-stop-shop for all the materials you need to redo a space. From grout to tile and stone, countertops and flooring, they have it all. They are the leading specialty retailer in the hard surface flooring market, offering the broadest in-stock selection of tile, wood, stone, related tools, and flooring accessories at amazingly low prices.
Okay back on task!
Include An Elegant Partition In A Walk
A walk-in shower divider may not be necessary in larger bathrooms, but to make them work in a compact area, you will most likely need something to keep water from splashing all over the place. Black Crittall-style shower partitions are incredibly trendy right now, and they appear to be in every bathroom on Instagram. They manage to make a statement while being subtle.

Draw The Eye Upwards With Elongated Hexagon Tiles
Hexagonal tiles are very on-trend right now, but they dont work with every design style. If you have a more modern aesthetic, these two-toned elongated hexagon tiles offer a contemporary twist on this trend. They are also ideal in narrow rooms and can be used to construct the illusion of increased space.
Look For Large Flourishes On Tiles

This bathroom has a lovely mix of wallpaper and different kinds of tiles to change up the look throughout the room. It still all works well together thanks to the white theme and wooden and black accents.
I really like the mix of the black and white wallpaper over a half-wall of white subway tiles. For the flooring tiles, there are some large gray flourishes across white tiles for a muted style.

Mixing It Up Naturally
Gray stone-look tile shower and bath
Natural stone-effect tile in your shower and bath area is already a modern trend, but this beautiful bathroom takes it one step further by using various sizes of rectangles in an off-center pattern. Mosaic tile in the shower flooring and shelf area accents this clean design and the running bond grid flooring pattern directs your eye toward this unique combination.
Tile The Walls In Full
Make a narrow shower room feel more streamlined by choosing to tile the walls from floor to ceiling. This idea is particularly practical in small and narrow shower rooms, with limited ventilation, to reduce the chance of humidity damage to painted walls. Tiled walls in a shower room allow for easier all-over cleaning too. Choose contrasting patterned tiles for the floor to create decorative interest.

Hate Cleaning Choose Wisely
As mentioned above, if you hate cleaning you have to risk getting more polished flat surfaces but usually at the cost of slippery wetness. The way to counteract this in order to make them more viable for use in showers is to get rougher patterns with loads of grout involved like herringbone or mosaic. You can also get them available in smaller tiles to increase the grout-to-tile ratio for traction.
The problem with stain-resistant polished materials is that you need to make up for their lack of traction with smallness of the tiles and usage of grout. That means youll have to deal with discolored grout. So its either you go with polished tile but with grout that requires more cleaning or rougher textures that arent as resistant to staining.
Are you clear about the top 6 tips when choosing the most suitable floor tiles for your bathroom now? Are you planning to import tiles from China?
China is one of the largest tile exporters. The major tile industries is clustered in these five regions: Guangdong, Shandong, Fujian, Hebei, and Jiangxi. The following are the top 10 tile manufacturers in China, please have a check if you are interested.
Check Out The Selection
Once youve determined which size of walk-in shower you can purchase, youll want to look at as many designs and styles of showers that you can. Take a walk around your home and determine what look and feel you get from other design elements. If you have a historical home, for example, you may want to think about antique fixtures and an aged or patina appearance in your tiles. If your home was built in a certain era, you should lean towards fixtures, tiles and even a shower shape that will further accommodate that eras appeal.

Primary Bathroom Tile From Floor & Decor
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. All opinions are 100% mine.
Back in December, I shared how Steve and I went to Floor & Decor to pick out the tile for our primary bathroom renovation. We met with one of their in-store designers, Natalie, for a free consultation. If you missed that post and want to read about how the consultation works, you can check it out here.
After the consultation, I felt good about the tiles we selected. Natalie quickly understood what we were looking for and it was really convenient because it meant that we didn’t have to browse every aisle of the vast store on our own, piecing things together. Yet, because I am a perfectionist, I started to second guess things as I was about to put the order in.
My thought was: how do you know you made the right decision if you haven’t seen all the options?! This is a common issue for me, so Steve wasn’t surprised. So we made another trip to Floor & Decor to double-check that we wanted to stick with the options we selected with Natalie. I know many of you followed my Floor & Decor trips on Stories, and even shared your opinions which were really helpful.
So what tiles did we actually land on? See for yourself!
After spending a couple more hours in the store and online, we ended up using all of the tiles that Natalie helped us select! With the vast selection they have in-store, this really is telling as to how valuable working with the in-store designer was.

Sure, soaker tubs are relaxing, but they are not as practical as showers, which are equally as refreshing. Even better, a walk-in shower works in both large and small spaces, and you can design one to suit your taste, whether it is traditional or modern. Get ready to rethink your bathroom. The following ideas share different design elements, materials, and accessories to consider when creating a thoughtful and beautiful shower for your bathroom.
In small spaces, like apartments, you can still have a stylish shower that will stand the test time if you opt for classic, white subway tiles, as shown in this space featured on Sweeten. For a dose of striking contrast, the design team used charcoal grout. Every shower you take should be wonderfully relaxing. Here a large round shower head in polished chrome creates a drenching experience.

Make The Tiles The Accent Wall
These tiles are so large, they barely even look like tiles. Its a modern and simple look that I absolutely love, especially with these large floor-to-ceiling windows on each side. These large rectangular tiles create an accent wall and backdrop for this bathtub.
The result is classic and simple, and something thats quite easy to accomplish if you have a larger bathroom.

Use Tiny Tiles Throughout The Bathroom
These tiny tiles look almost like pixels on the screen, and the same size tiles are used all over the bathroom, including the walk-in shower, counter, and walls.
The shower walls and floors are all done in white and gray tiles, and the bathroom counter and walls are in different shades of blue tiles. At first glance, its a stunning bedroom that pops, but the colors make it feel bright and fresh.
Be Flowery With Detailed Tiles
This walk-in shower tile idea continues to the wall of the bathroom to keep half of the walls in the same pattern. Its a lovely flower pattern thats not too loud, and the mostly dark color of the tiles adds some glamor to the room.
This bathroom with walk-in shower is big, and the smooth large tiles of the floor are matched well by a brighter wall pattern.

Mix And Match White Tile Patterns
A great way to add some life and character to a bathroom while still staying in the same color scheme is to use different patterns.
In this example, we can see that the bathroom is a pure, classic white, but the tiling contrast with the floor tiles and the two wall tiles creates some nice contrast and textures. This is accomplished thanks to some large square tiles, some tiny hexagons, and some chevron tiles.
Patterned And Solid Ceramic Tile
Ceramic tile lasts long and is easy to maintain. Available in striking herringbone patterns, colorful graphics and all white, ceramic tile is versatile and a practical way to express your style in a bath. Its countless designs range from traditional and transitional to modern or vintage inspired.
Patterned and solid ceramic tile work equally on floors and walls. They allow for some creativity for example, ceramic black and white patterned tiles in bathrooms with a built-in tub can create a retro-modern look.

Go Vintage With Small Black And White Tiles
These black and white tiles are reminiscent of old bathrooms, but it still looks excellent today. Its a timeless look that works really well with the rest of the white room.
Its a great look for a smaller bathroom. For bigger spaces with larger floors, it might become a bit too overwhelming to have this polka-dot look throughout the bathroom.
Go For Dramatic Black

Choose striking black tiles for the ultimate contrast to white bathroom fittings. Pick an assortment of sizes and styles, from high gloss to slate effect.
The shower area has been marked out with small rectangular tiles and these have been broken up with larger-format neutral tiles to lighten the space and avoid it looking too ‘heavy’.

Our New Favorite Tile And Flooring Resource + 3 Bathroom Design Plans For Moody Beachy And Cottage Styles
Robert and I went on a date the other day.
And maybe for some couples this one is kind of weird being that its not your typical dinner-and-a-movie scenario but what can I say? Were not exactly normal, and dates for us typically include painting a room while dancing with 90s rock playing on blast.
For this date though, we went bathroom planning at Floor & Decor since a new location had just opened up near our house in Pineville, NC and wed never ever been before but had been dyyyyying to go to one.
True story: Robert and I used to go on dates to the thrift store to try to find the most hideous outfit for each other.
This one though was like polar opposite by, instead, trying to put together our perfect dream master bathroom, which used to look like this:
And now looks like this after a Phase 1 makeover with just paint and cheap vinyl to hold us over until the big reno phase one day:
Then, the second we walked through the doors of this gigantic place, we realized this was basically the honeymoon spot of home renovation projects.
It was so overwhelming with all kinds of gorgeous tile and hardwoods and stone, but in a good way.
We noticed right off the bat that the tile we used in the girls bathroom renovation was priced way lower here than what we paid, and everything else was priced really well.
The second we both saw this aquamarine polished ceramic tile, we gasped at the exact same time.
In the end, this was the winning look Robert and I put together.
