Wisconsin’s First Floor & Decor Store Set To Open Friday In Brookfield
Floor & Decor, an Atlanta-based retailer focused on hard-surface flooring, is preparing to make its Wisconsin debut.
The approximately 74,000-square-foot store at 16300 W. Blue Mound Road in Brookfield will open its doors to customers on Friday, with a grand opening set for Sept. 28.
The store, in renovated space that previously housed two stores Ashley furniture and Sports Authority is the first Floor & Decor in the state.
Were definitely excited to be in Brookfield, David Roman, chief executive merchant for the new location, said Wednesday.
Floor & Decor, founded in 2000, is a specialty retailer of hard surface flooring and related accessories. Its warehouse-format stores feature tile, wood, laminate and natural stone flooring, along with decor and accessories. The stores cater to both consumers and professional contractors.
The company, which went public in April, has said it plans to open 17 stores in 2017 and hopes to have 400 stores nationwide within 15 years. It currently has more than 70.
The store is stocked with rows of hard flooring products, but no carpeting. Floor & Decor deals in hard surface materials.
As a new company to the state, Floor & Decor will be looking to build customer relationships with consumers and contractors, Roman said.
“We have a specific section that caters to the contractors, but the whole store is for consumers, contractors, DIYers whatever the case may be,” Roman said.

I considered going four stars, but then I decided that sensory overload isn’t really a problem for a retail store. So I went with five stars. There really are so many choices you can spend hours wandering around from display to display trying to decide which tile, lvp, or backsplash material you want to use on your next project. And when you engage with a product sales specialist, they all seem to be very helpful and knowledgeable of their products. And you would really spend more time bouncing from store to store to store to see what ended up as less of a selection then you have here.
Wow, could get lost looking at all the tile. Had a pretty large selection and availability was good for most. Prices were reasonable.
Very helpful staff. They showed me where all the products I needed for my project were and then loaded everything into my car for me. I even got carrera marble tile on sale!
