Floor and Decor sells tile cheaper because its defective. I had an install & had to have it ripped out because the tile was defective. We bought a different lot because it was a lot better but then found the ends were also defective. The tile was rated 4 out of 5. I guess you get what you pay for. The Nucor they highly recommended has a gap where the seems meet. I would not have used it if I knew. As the buyer using their contractors, you have the responsibility of the product. You have to return the defective product. I highly dont recommend their products.

It obvious its not just me. After waiting an hour for someone to help load laminate i decided my 70yr. old bad back better get busy or it wouldn’t get loaded. once i got to checkout an informed staff i would need assistance, once again nothing. I told them they had two choices get a loader or put it back on the shelf. I ended up pulling 800.00 dollars of laminate right in front of the mgrs. desk an walked out. Lazy late night druggies who could care less. SHOP ANYWHERE BUT F& D!

I knew I really wanted one of the tiles I had spotted in the display its the most expensive part of the setup but look at that mother of pearl inset!

After this exercise, I feel like I have a very good visual of what I want the bathroom to look like and now I can continue to dream about it and work towards it!

Hello and welcome to my blog!! Today I am going to share my kitchen backsplash transformation! I partnered with Floor & Decor for this project. Floor & Decor is my go to store for all my tile! I have been buying tile from Floor & Decor for many years now. You just cant beat their selection and prices. So first lets take a look at the Before of my kitchen backsplash. When we remodeled our kitchen two years ago I decided to go with a patterned backsplash.

When I first installed it I loved it! Its a beautiful tile, but soon after installing it, I became tired of it. The pattern was just so busy and I had so much of it. I felt like it overwhelmed the kitchen and took away from my countertops and cabinets. I knew I should have gone with something more neutral. I began looking for a replacement tile, but nothing stood out to me. That was until I found the Villa Artisan Frost Porcelain Tile from Floor & Decor!

When I Saw the Villa Artisan Tile I immediately fell in love! I loved that each tile had a unique shape. It had the look of fire clay tile, but without the hefty price tag and maintenance.

Prepping For The Floor Installation

We were committed at this point. The floors were purchased and now it was time to get the old ones out. We were told we could install over our old floors, but unfortunately the install of the tile was not done correctly and in order to remove the baseboards, the tile had to be yanked out. So we did. We chipped and chiseled and in the 1/2 of the kitchen that was originally linoleum, the tiles and grout came up super easy.

However, on the 1/2 of the floor that was originally carpet, we ended up having to remove a second layer of subfloor because it was so glued down that nothing was going to bring it up. It took my husband and brother-in-law about an hour to get that section of the floor up. We cleaned up the mess and laid a new 2nd layer of subfloor down to even out the kitchen and dining floors and then it was time to lay the new floors!
