Your Bridal Shower Be Poppin’
Hosting a bridal shower in the Midwest is always a good idea. Especially for a Cincinnati Bengals bride-to-be! Angela Shaw, stylist of Zeven Events and I collaborated on this amazing bridal shoot inspired by her own 20’s theme wedding. This shoot was truly a collaboration of talents.
Beginning with the floral backdrop, chair backs and place settings by Katie’s blooms creating a 20’s feel to the floral selection. The floral design doesn’t stop there, Carly of Surcee Florals garnished the center of the table with a beautiful runner of white blooms and greenery on the jumbo balloons which were then styled by Just Plan it Events.

Set Up A Dessert Display On An Open Shelf For A Unique Way To Serve Sweets

- Who doesnt love dessert at a bridal shower! I utilized the open shelving in the space to make a sweets display that includes a cake, my black & white parfaits recipe, and mini cheesecakes from Sharis Berries.
- The cake is decorated with a sleek, minimal approach using green herbs and a topper. I created a cutout that says Love is Sweet, and included another diamond confetti cutout to accent the piece. I simply attached the cutouts to toothpicks using Glue Dots, and inserted it into the cake.
- Add a framed sign to the dessert shelf to bring color and a message of love. There is a two step process to make this sign. First the machine writes out the message on card stock, and then I added a vinyl adhesive diamond cutout to the paper.
- This is a great place to display the guest favor boxes. I designed diamond shaped tags using the print and cut technique on the machine. First I printed out the design using my printer, and then the Cricut Explore Air cuts it out. Easy peasy.
- Set up a comfortable chair for the bride-to-be to open gifts. Follow my guide to writing Thank You notes, for after the shower!
These black & gold bridal shower ideas can be achieved by anyone with a little time and patience. I hope youll pick at least a few of these projects to do.
For this post I teamed up with Cricut and Canon to bring you creative party ideas, including products like Canon Printers and Canon PowerShot G7 X Camera.

Bridal Shower Centerpieces The Bride
Planning a bridal shower isn’t always a walk in the park. Although it’s a smaller celebration than the wedding day itself, there are so many details to consider when bringing the event to life: A guest list, a date, location, menu, andpossibly the most intimidating to-do of them allthe décor. But there’s no reason to stress over adding great decorative moments to her bridal shower. As long as you stay true to the bride-to-be’s personality, there’s no wrong way to dress up these pre-wedding parties.
Our favorite way to add a little oomph to a bridal shower without going overboard? Choosing the right centerpieces. Short or tall, simple or sweet, bridal shower centerpieces elevate your location and add an extra pop of color without taking up too much of your time or eating up your budget. While most of these arrangements lean toward the smaller side, some hosts opt to fill their tables with larger, fresh mixes . Others still skip traditional tabletop displays altogether. Take Hudson Botanica, for example, who created this garland full of fresh greenery and florals for this single-table shower.
Bridal Shower Stationery And Signage
When planning out the theme of the bash, consider the stationery and day-of signage that will complement the aesthetic. “A seating chart can go a long way,” advises Lopez. “Not only can it act as a focal point for your theme, but it can also be interactive too.” For affordable bridal shower invitations you’re sure to love, check out these ideas.

Make It Glam With A Touch Of Gold
While a black and white color palette for a party is always classic, adding a touch of color can change the feel of the entire day. For this black and white bridal shower, add some bits of gold to make this shower feel extra glam.
Add in gold pieces to each area you decorate. Use vintage gold cups and vases in the centerpieces and to use as containers to hold things like forks and straws theyll be both useful and a beautiful addition to your black and white bridal shower.
Down the center of the tables, sprinkle gold votive holders throughout your centerpieces for a pop of elegance on the table. Use gold chargers under the plates, gold napkin rings and gold flatware as a way of making your black and white bridal shower pop.
With black and white and a sprinkle of gold here and there, your shower will be trendy and glamorous.

Get Creative With Bridal Shower Themes

Virginia Frischkorn, wedding planning expert and owner of Bluebird Productions, Something Blue by Bluebird and Bluebird in a Box, encourages anyone planning a wedding shower to “pick a theme! It’s so much easier for guests to get excited and choose gifts if there’s a theme.” One theme that Frischkorn suggests is an “around the clock” theme. “Each guest is given a time and should bring a gift that correlates with that time. For example, if I got 5 PM, I would choose a cocktail shaker set or if you got 9 AM, select the coffee maker off the registry. Another fun shower theme is a wine tasting and having guests bring a bottle to try and a bottle for the couple to keep.”
However, Karina Lopez, wedding planner and owner of KC You There advises that you don’t need to go overboard with thematic party ideas. “Themes can sometimes get a bit out of hand. If you’re having a Parisian themed shower, you don’t need mini Eiffel towers or berets everywhere. Play off the feel and color of your venue and when in doubt, pick a focal piece and incorporate mini details here and there.” Get inspired by even more creative bridal shower themes here.

Black And Gold Bridal Shower Ideas Are For The Sophisticated Bride Who Wants To Celebrate With A Bridal Luncheon
Im excited to share these bridal shower ideas and inspiration. The overall look and feel is a bit more elegant as its done in a black and gold color combo. Right away the colors say elegant.
The bridal shower decor is dark and moody which makes it great for an evening shower as well. Its beautiful for seasonal showers during fall, winter, or holiday, but certainly is not limited to that. I started with a black base and added gold highlights. Then wove in some earthy accents like greenery, wood, and stone slabs.

Madigan Made Spray Painted Black Vases For A Bridal Shower
Recently, I helped my mother-in-law and sisters-in-law host a bridal shower for my husbands cousin.
The brides wedding colors are black and white. I helped create these black and white floral centerpieces for the tables.
Check out the black matte vases. It is amazing what a little spray paint can do, isnt it?Paint can turn boring glass into something so pretty! Let me show you how we made them. When I learned about the brides color scheme I remembered this idea for black painted vases that I spotted on Pinterest and suggested we use that idea for the centerpieces.
I went out to thrift stores and dollar stores to find different containers to paint. Each piece was about 50 cents to a dollar.
Cut glass and crystal can sometimes verge on too busy for my simple tastes. But with coat of matte black spray paint, I think they turned into something both modern and classic.
To fill the vases, my one sister-in-law bought the white flowers and then raided her yard for the green filler .
We placed little arrangements of vases/objects on the two small tables.
And a bigger grouping of containers on the large dining room table.
By the way, have I told you that my sisters-in-law make beautiful cards and paper crafts? Because they do! And I want to show off their work.
Oh, and the shower invite they made? I have you show you that, too. It was stunning!
I think it would be gorgeous for a wedding invitation, too.
Feta cheese? Yum! There is nothing wrong with that, right?
